Well after giving up on finding a 3870x2 with quad dvi, does anyone know or use a FireMV card? And does the FireMV work with another ATI card, aka I buy the 3870x2 or keep my current X1800XT and the FireMV working together. Does that work ok? Will the desktops on the X1800XT span into the desktops on the FireMV etc?
 
I know this is an old thread, but just wanted to see if anyone else is reading now

I just purchased a FireMV....and i've been having ALOT of problems with it.

It seems to be very specific with the chipset or something...I honestly have no idea.
But is anyone out there uses a FireMV, let me know your motherboard specs!

Anyways..here's what i've tried out
I initially purchased a Dell Vostro 410 (Foxconn motherboard)....and bought it with the FireMV thinking that it would work with it since it's got a PCIe slot. But after a few hours of playing around I only got it to work with 2 monitors. The instant I expanded it to the third i would get a blue screen of death. Anyways, it seemed like there wasn't enough memory on the motherboard to handle anything more than 3 monitors. So I tried it out on a non dell one (thinking it was dell's fault for dumbbing down their motherboards with their own bios.) Anyways, this computer had an intel motherboard with a 945 chipset....so i tried it out and the result was even worse. It didn't even boot into Windows.

So I went to ATI's website and they had a list of 'certified' motherboards by ATI. So I went ahead and purchased Gigabyte one. And gladly....it worked well with the FireMV....however, I needed to install SQL Server 2005. And this "certified" by ATI/AMD, uses an AMD processor, and i happen to by a Phenom X3. However..SQL server 2005 doesn't work with it...in fact on SQL Server 2005 compatability website it only says Pentium 3 and above!!!

Anyways, just wanted to know if anyone got this FireMV working with an LGA775 socket motherboard!
