Firefox password save question

What are the chances that the saved password list may become compromised? I remember there was an exploit that easily let people see your passwords, that's why I shy away from using it right now in favor the of passwordmaker extension. I'm tired of right clicking and typing my master password twice every time, so I'm wondering if it's safe to save my passwords with built in functionality.

I've just always used it (FF's built in one) and never thought twice.

It's perfectly safe.... but well anything you don't want any chance of someone finding you're going to have to memorize...
