I guess there is no way of making the default Firefox download manager to get the timestamp for the file from the server instead of just setting it to the download date?
Does any of the download related extensions do that?
Windows assigns the dates, not firefox. If you download a file, windows makes the "Date Created" and "Last Modified" fields the current date/time. Firefox has nothing to do with it.

That's the feature that a standalone download manager has... So Firefox could have something to do with it if their dl manager wouldn't be so bare bones.
