Firefox Crashing on Quicktime Objects

I can’t go to any sites that contain QuickTime objects when I use Firefox; Flash and Windows Media load fine, but QuickTime crashes. Here are some examples:

Firefox hard crashes every time I visit those, and just navigating apple's website is like walking through a minefield. Any way to fix this?

have you tried completely removing and reinstalling both ff and qt? it works fine for me, and i'm using 1.5 and qt...

Did that, still have the same problem.

Try installing the quicktime alternative. Works great with firefox 1.5 for me.

Well, that solved my problems with the QuickTime videos in MYST skipping to the last frame, but Firefox still crashes with a "Plug in performed an illegal operation" error.
