Firefox Consuming 70-80% of CPU?

This has been happening for a few weeks now (or at least that's when I started to notice). I just updated to 3.5.2. Actually, I did a fresh install of 3.5.2 and still have the problem. I still kept all of my ad-ons, but I'm not sure what's happening because I tried it in firefox's safe mode and had the same problem.
 
s/firefox/some fugly extension or plugin/

try disabling all your extentions and see if it carries on. Some are just nasty
Also update your JAVA
 
I've heard multiple reports of this but havn't experienced it myself. I have 4 add-ons and am currently sitting at 0% cpu utilization.
 
As a last resort, you might try using something like process monitor from sysinternals. You can view individual threads. If it looks like there's a particular misbehaving thread, it might give some direction as to where to start looking for help.

MS bought sysinternals so process monitor will be on MS's website.
