Amazon recently released their homegrown browser, Silk, for use on their Fire TV products. Of course it's Silk and I know a lot of you don't like that browser. Now you can use a modern browser on your Fire TV and web surf on the big screen all day long. Go to the Amazon Appstore and grab it today.

Easily watch videos from YouTube and other popular sites.
Go to YouTube and other sites directly from the Firefox for Fire TV home screen.
Navigate using your Amazon Fire TV remote or app.
Search and browse the web directly from your Fire TV.

"Easily watch videos from YouTube and other popular sites."
So this is basically a way to bypass Google's embargo on youtube for amazon. Nice.

I saw a Firefox commercial last night and they proclaimed the browser to be "twice as fast". They never did say what it's twice as fast as or how that compares to Edge, Chrome, etc.

Recent tests between the top three browsers show a virtual dead heat in speed that appears to be dependent on what you're using them for. That pretty much leaves it to using whichever browser you feel most comfortable with if it can do what you need it to;)

Thank you OP, I was hoping I wouldn't have to buy a Roku to be able to watch YouTube. Hope this works out!

Might work better then the YouTube Fire App that grinds to a juddery halt on my MK1 Fire after a few hours viewing, requiring a power plug pull.
