Finishing Paint

I was painting my case this weekend, and I used some paint that is made for aluminum (my case is made out of it). When I went to check on it a while (about 2 days) later, I noticed that the paint was sticky. It was dry, but sticky. So my question is, how do you get that silky smooth, sturdy finish that will remain a high gloss? If you know, please tell me what its called and where I can get it. I live in Canada and do not want to order online.

Use lacquer primer and paint. This is the "automotive" paint everyone talks about on here. Should be able to find it at any auto parts store. Just out of curiosity what kind of paint did you use?

I used Armor Coat Rust Paint. It said it had a high gloss finish, durable, and quick drying.

go to canadian tire and get some automotive primer and paint, sand the panels, prime them, sand the primed surface, paint, sand, paint, sand... until you get the finish you want. sand with coarse grit and then fine grit to get a smooth surface to paint on
