Yeah, I know I am late at playing the game but I just got over that wow addiction ;)

I really enjoyed the game overall. Some things could of been different. I didn't care for Oblivion but loved Morrowind. So, I didn't really know if I would like it or not since people compared it to Oblivion.

The game world is fairly large but not as large as morrowind.
Did enjoy the FPS feel to it. I enjoy FPS more than RPG's which is odd considering wow.
Tons of side quests and I know I missed some as I didn't make it to the NE part of the map. maybe nothing was there..dunno

I did make the mistake of finishing the main quest. If I knew it would kick me to the main menu I would of held off on it for a bit.

I will run through it again with a diff weapon setup and explore different options.

Will have to find a new game to try now.
 
Can't you just load to a save before you went into Project Purity for the last time? :p Get Operation Anchorage too, I have it here waiting but haven't launched yet because I would have to start all over.

yeah, I could do that but I also want to explore the bad side of things :D
 
I've been avoiding the main storyline like a plague and I'm about 80 hours in. Still have about 20% of the map left to uncover.
 
i dont know what the fuck to do to beat this game rofl

i gave up on it like 2 months ago :(
 
It was kind of funny how many people complained about how quick it was to beat F3 when in fact you could beat F1/F2 in like 30mins tops.

Granted you would have to be cheating to know all the diplomatic answers in conversations and know how to avoid combat in the missions. Otherwise there is no way you could win the beefy fighting in the story line without leveling and gearing up.

Once I reached level 20 I took the Explorer perk, it shows you all locations on the map. How lazy.
 
I'm still waiting for the right time to actually start this game, LOL.

Maybe I just sucks at these kind of RPG, but when I took up Oblivion, it was very confusing I had to find for some guide online, sit myself down and read all the details of the game system. Those attribute stuff and all. Of course I finally started to enjoy it once I had the basic idea of the complex game system.


I have a feeling that I will need to do the same for Fallout 3, probably have to get some guide online or whatever, sit down and read through everything :p
 
Definitely my favorite game of the last year. I was disappointed when it was over but I had maxed out my character and seen most of the map so I got my moneys worth for sure.

For me, Fallout 3 is a lot easier to get into than Oblivion was. I was like level 14 or so on Oblivion before I realized how exactly to get a plus 5 bonus on certain skills when I leveled up. (I hadn't read any guides for this game previously nor had I played Morrowind). I did enjoy it very much however. I maxed out my character at around 47 or so and literally completed just about everything there is to do in that game.

Fallout 3 is much faster to get into it seems and the leveling mechanics are much more simplified. All accomplishments go into the same pool of experience points whether from combat, hacking, lock picking, etc.

My one observation is this: Is it just me or is Oblivion a much larger game than Fallout 3? With Oblivion, I finished all the guild quest lines, the main quest line, and just about every random side quest. All in all I think my play counter was up to something like 160 hours?

With Fallout, I've completed a boat load of quests (something like 23) most of the main quest line (I won't finish it quite yet since I don't want the game to end) but it seems like I'm starting to run out of things to do. Granted there are a few locales I've probably yet to find but I've covered the entire map pretty well and I'm only about 55 hours into the game. Of course, that's still a massive game, but it just seems like Oblivion was 2 to 3 times bigger in terms of scope. Just my impression at least. What do you guys think?
 
I finished it in two days. And then, started over, to really play it this time.
 
I played it for over 100 hours before beating the main quest. I discovered 159/161 total locations I think. Completed 27 quests.

That can back fire, unfortunately. I stayed away from the main quest and spent many hours just exploring.... until I found Tranquility. Just finding that place allowed the game to bypass a HUGE portion of the main quest. I restored my game and avoided the place, then found another place that bypassed a HUGE portion of the main quest.

I'm playing on the Xbox and was peeved to have every achievement except for Scientific Methods... because in my exploring I picked up this quest one step in than where I "should" have. Spent 4 hours replaying to get back to that point.
 
I enjoyed the game as well. I knew the main quest would end my ability to explore, so I followed it up to the last mission and then went after everything I hadn't done yet. I too had the explorer perk, so I made sure to visit each location and take every quest before finishing it. Not sure how many hours I had in, I'll have to see if I can find that out some where. Regardless, I doubt it was more then 80.

The game got a lot of things right, I think it will be up for game of the year. My biggest complaint was the level cap. I hit level 20 way too fast. I still had about 70% of the locations to explore. I was only halfway through the main quest and their was no more incentive for me other then storyline. I know the DLC is supposed to up it to 30, but they're waiting until the last DLC to do it (April) and since I finished the game before Ancorage came out, I have to wait until then for the ending to be changed so I can go back and explore... or start a new game. They should have opened it up with the first DLC in my opinion.
 
I found the game to be just okay. I'm not a big rpg fan, so having to talk to characters and explore the land I found a bit tedious and boring. I gave it a whirl though, and overrall, it wasn't too bad. The graphics are great, weapons are cool, and the slow mo shooting system was a neat feature. For people that like fast paced non-stop action type games though, they are not going to like this game. I uninstalled it after a few hours play.

Agreed. It's not a death-matchers style of game. I've felt the same way in the past, but as I age :mad: I mind the exploration less and less. :p
