Fingerprint Reader for PC?

Like the title says, I am looking (if it even exists yet) for a fingerprint reader that will give me access to my PC.

I know APC makes something similar but it just fills in passwords for you according to your fingerprints, plus I have heard mixed reviews about it. Anyone know where I can find consumer level hardware for this?
 
Awesome... these might work. I am going to be dismantling thses anyway so hopefully all goes well.
 
Are you looking for something to let you logon with a biometric?

digital persona and Targus both make fingerprint readers for those roles.

I looked at the Digital Persona stuff and that is exactly the look I am looking for. Plus they sell an OEM version that will fit the my needs. But it appears they mainly sell to businesses and Gov.

Anyone have any experience with these?
 
Here's some security devices over at ThinkGeek

They have an USB fingerprint scanner for $99.

I also want to say that I remember seing a retina scanner at one point...but I can't recall.
 
I have used a few of the digital Persona USB fingerprint readers with no problem. You could always open the case it is in to do a custom mount.

It's more for looks... I am doing a mod project and looks count. The ones at Digital Persona looked nice.

Boy I wish I could find a retinal scanner... that would look ridiculous.
 
If you do find a retina scanner, you might want to keep in mind that you'll probably be shelling out thousands of dollars for a good one.

I'd be afraid to get a "cheap" version and it's resolution not be so great so it couldn't even recognize my own eye.

Haha... yeah the retinal scanner is more day dreaming than reality. The Pritn scanner is more of a possibility.

I am new to biometric stuff, so if anyone has any kind of experience with any of this let me know.
 
Optical scanners have the chance of contamination. Eww, other people's eye juice.
