I OCd my 2500k a few months ago (was my first successful OC attempt) and it definitely took me a while to get it stable at 4.5. It's been a while and I forgot what most of the BIOS settings do (for example LLC, PLL overvoltage c1e, c3, c6 etc). I was wondering if any of those settings can be played around with to try and hit a higher OC without changing the Vcore.
 
PLL is one of your better options from my experience. Loweting the pll can sometimes introduce stability where it wasn't before. Also other options to consider are disabling any power saving tools. These reduce vcore and clock speeds when idle but can introduce instability on an otherwise stable OC. Vcore is still your best option for it though. The less stress on your IMC the better too. Pushing memory OCs can also hurt the stability both ways
