I have a P4 2.8Ghz HT socket 478 from a recently retired gaming PC. Id like to put it into a shuttle and add a 6800 GT AGP from the same rig. I want the small footprint, I dont want to build another big desktop. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I already have a G5 chassis with a 3500+ and I love the quiet.

I have a SB61 with a prescott 3.2Ghz in it. Its nice...slightly faster than my 3200+, Minus it cant do raid. which kinda irks me a little bit. But i went over to this thing for its size...and it was free.
 
Shuttle has the SB75G2 for $224 on its eBay store. They also have the SB65's.
 
Go with the SB75G2. I built one for my sister with a Mobile 3.2Ghz ES and it is amazing.

My SB61runs a X800XT AIW, SB A2 ZS, 2x160Gigers 1x200Giger, and my 3.2Ghz Prescott without a hickup. And before the X800 I had a 6800LE in there. Tight fit, but everything ran fine.
 
I think that board you highlighted is socket 479 not 478????? oh well.

I think the ones Shuttle has on eBay comes with a 220watt. If you get a Shuttle, you ought to get one of the 250watt PC50's that they have. They are better and quieter power supplies.
 
Wow for the price of that Board ALONE he could buy a brand new Shuttle and still have money left over for a happy meal.
 
Get the SB75 either g2 or S, I prefer the pearly white S myself, but haven't seen any for sale for a few months.
 
yes....the sb75g2 is a great system as you can see from my specs...
it would be your best bet for a s478 system shuttle right now. the sb61g2 is based on the 865 springdale intel chipset, while the sb75g2 is based on the 875 canterwood chipset. canterwood supposedly has better memory latencies and such. also it supports SATA RAID. you don't want the sb51g, as that is the 845 chipset and only supports 533fsb.

now about the power supply...your shuttle might come with 220W psu (sb75g2 v1) or 250W psu (sb75g2 v2). the 220W will handle just about anything you throw at it, including that 6800gt. but i would recommend getting the pc40 250W psu (if yours came with the 220W) as it is a lot quieter. if you are really itching to spend more money and want to future-proof ur shuttle more, u can get the pc50 300W psu.
