Well after a hard time trying to leak test it, i finally got it to not leak. Let it run for 4-5 hours, then i finally turned it on.

Specs:

Intel Q9450
BFG h20 GTX 280
2x2gb DDR2 1000 G.Skill ram
Asus Maximus Formula II
2x 640GB AAKS Drives

i need to do something about the PCI-E cables. Theyre too short to be routed behind the mobo, and i dont like them being there :( Might have to buy some sort of extension.

Finally cant believe its working all good now :D Just need to wait for the side panel from Ashraf :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Then ill do a little more cable management, and add a few more lights.

Why didn't you use the bottom hole on the res for the drain port? Works great that way.
 
I had it that way before, didnt like the way it looked :p But yeh, i dont know why i changed it.

My res was leaking frm the bottom too, so i thought its better just to close it.
 
I didnt know you could move the supreme fx card into the other pci express 1x slot??
 
Yeh you can o_o. For some reason, the card doesnt fit on the top slot. Pretty gay, like when i put it in, the part with all the slots doesnt reach the case. Weird :S
 
You can get it into the top slot, but I'll bet your motherboard tray's cut out for the backplate riser is off just enough that it won't seat. Its pretty easy to fix. Just loosen all the motherboard screws a half turn, push the board forward (away from the riser), plug in the sound card into the top slot, and then tighten each screw back down for the motherboard.

BTW, nice look. I like the combo Res/pump and the short hose runs you did. I also like the drain out the back too. I can understand not wanting the extra run of hose for the drain.
 
really nice setup. Just watch out on ur mobo i have the same one and i am very pleased with... was very pleased everything was well and good until the really small chip next to the battery blew up and shot across my room while booting up. I was quite pissed. I am going to RMA it I am just hoping that it i get one that wasnt in that bunch. the idiots probably just put it in backwards apart from that it is a great motherboard and that is one hell of a setup. GL with it and i hope you have no more leak problems.

Thats nice, I hate comeing on [H] because if i see something ill want it and that just happened, i now want a rig like yours.
 
Very nice rig... I have seen a lot of ppl with those OCZ ram coolers... do they work pretty well? I think I want to try them out... do you have to take the ram heatsinks off to fit it over them?

No, they simply fit over the ram. they are really nice. And you lock them in on the things that hold the ram in place.

Thanks guys, build isnt 100% done though. Still waiting on a side panel and still need to add more lights :p
 
Good work, I like the black tubing better in your rig. The wiring job isn't half bad either.

Any ideas how i can make it beyyer? I tried my besy >_< The only wires that show is the LED wires going frm behind the mobo -> Behind the drive cage.
 
Whats tough about your setup has more to do with the size of the case. Unless you can run the case LEDs under the motherboard, the other option is to cut a pass through hole next to the bottom of the motherboard tray so it only shows for that last 3" as it pokes out.
 
i actually have a hole there, but the problem is that, i put some leds there. And they just pointed light like a flash light and you could see 3-4 circles on the bottom of the case. I didnt like it, so i need to think of something else.

When the side panel arrives, its gonna cover most of the bottom with a design. and through the window all you will see is the mobo.

In the future, i will fit a 120.2 down there Hopefullt. So much room, so little skills :(
 
I couldn't tell from the pictures since your case is black, but you could always sleeve each case LED plug and then shrink wrap the ends. It would make it very clean, and if you use black, won't stand out.

So, you'd drop close to $200 on pumps and added complication for a 1-2c variance? I'd don't consider it superior when you have to use double the pump setup in order to best another brand block.
 
Amazing work. After seeing your worklog it gave me an idea for something similar for a future Lian Li A17 build. Mounting a 2x120mm radiator with the performance pcs brackets, painting interior all black, and your mounting the reservoir to back wall idea. About your drain port: I've never done any fillports or drainports on my build but does the inline reservoir help out with draining and filling?
 
A Drain port is actually very helpful. All you do is open ur fillport, open the drain port then just blow in it. Not ALL the water comes out, but with my build i could get all the water except the water from RES > PUMP (The small tube) and from the PUMP > RAD. But it was way easier then not having one.


I had the drain port on the bottom of the Res, then i moved it to the VGA. No difference what so ever.

The only problem i have now... With black tubing, how am i supposed to see where the water is? Ive drained the water before with clear tubing, and since its the same setup im guessing its the same way. But still, scary not knowing if theres water or not >_<
