Alright well I finally got my comp OCed and it worked pretty nice. So far I have it to 2.7ghz without a hitch (still havent been able to test the stability tho) but it does play a game for a bit and lets me do all the benchmarking I want. The results I got were good, taking into consideration I got some shitty ram that I hope to replace soon. But anyways, I got 12,470 MIPS and 4254/5547 MFLOPS on the CPU so I think I did pretty well on going from about 9k MIPS. Feel free to add your comments, and let me know what kind of ram I can get that will take a bit more mhz and doesnt need any volt modding. Thank you for reading!

Oh, and the details of the OC were 300x9) and I turned the ram ratio to 2:3 so its running at stock speeds.

Don't you see the best performance when the ram is at 1:1 with the proc? why not overclock the ram and see it you can get it that far?

Note: I have no experience with A64 so I may be totally wrong. please correct me if I'm sounding like an idiot :p

The only reason I didnt do 1:1 first of all because my FSB is 300mhz and seccond of all is because this ram totally sucks... it cant even do 220fsb which is horrible. But anyways I need to find some ram that I can get to go fast than 220mhz. Any suggestions. Oh and BTW, what kind of MIPS and stuff does a FX-53 get?

crucial ballistix memory likes the athlon 64 platform a lot for overclocking. Also I hear the TCCD chips are pretty good, most any RAM that is pc3200 and advertised at 2-2-2-5 will be tccd chips nowadays

For some reason everytime I boot, my vid card does a GPU recovery and tells me to restart. Anyone know why it would do something like that? Maybe the AGP lock isnt working correctly?

Back with XPs and Nforce2 anything other than 1:1 caused a huge performance hit. Its not like that anymore. 1:1 is still best but if you can go faster at 6:5 or whatever it isnt gonna kill ya. As for OCing the ram there isnt any PC3200 ram that can do 300FSB at 1:1 let alone his "cheap" stuff.

I just bought some OCZ Platinum Rev 2 EL ram. Its runs great, boots at 500mhz just fine so far, and I am going to do some more testing on it. But I keep getting a problem with my vid card resetting itself when I load into windows

you have a chance at getting 300 with that ram, but I bet your board will hold you back.

just got it to 270... wow this is working out great right now. My timings are 10-3-3-2.5 and its running smooth.
