Not only that, it's a Cascade SS :D





The base needs a little work, and it'll take a little bit of creative plexi work to adapt it to a Socket 939 system (its got a socket 478 top, I could pick up a Socket A top and a S939 adapter for ~$35 from Cathar), but all in all I've very pleased. It's HUGE compared to my Cuplex Pro, and weighs much more than my Cuplex 1.3, so its pretty hefty.

This was THE block to get when I first started playing with watercooling, and it still holds it own against pretty much everything out today when coupled with a decent pump.

I've also been lucky enough to get my hands on a Cascade SS recently... :D

Had a polished aluminium A64 bracet made for it aswell - just need some longer screws for it :) The bracket fits over the top of the original top, If you want the dimensions of it give me a shout.

The cascade, like the whitewater blocks, LOVE high flow and high pressure, even more so than say a Storm G4 would. Give it a proper pump and your temps will rock. ;)

Yup - My Hydor L30 should be up to the job, head pressure isn't great but flow is all good... :)
 
Eh, I dunno. Your right in the fact that the cascades weren't all that restrictive, however they certainly did enjoy flow rates above 3.0gpm. I'd personally go with a Danger Den D5 to ensure I didn't lose any of that precious flow. :)

How much did that top run you? I've been debating an LED mod myself, but haven't decided if it fits into my newest project.

Pump wise I haven't quite decided yet, since funds are low I'm just waiting to see what pops up on ebay and the For sale forums. I may have to sell some of my AC gear to get the SS running, but who knows.

hehe - I seem to have caught the shiny fettish I admit... :D

A mate who owns a water cooling shop did it for me - I e-mailed him regarding a D-Tek WW and he told me he had a Cascade SS lying around and that he'd make an A64 top for me :)

Here's how he made it.

Ahhhh, coolmiester, he does awesome work :eek: I might just have my S478 top cut down and make one of those.

Anyone know the best way to polish silver?

I think there is a product called tarn-x or something like that
