hello,

i am new to forum, and my english is no perfect. but i have question. i get Powermac G4 400mhz from friend as gift. i do no know where friend got G4 from. it come with final cut express. here is problem. i do no know if the final cut express install on it is legit copy or no. it no come with the boxed sofware, just final cut install on computer. i only like legit sofware, no steling sofware. my queston is, is better if i buy full install of final cut pro for $299? or wold upgrade for $99 be good?

Well if the version you have is not legit, you would need the full version since you have nothing to upgrade from.
 
ok thanks for help. i will get full version. i do like final cut express hd for hdv editing, will be good for my film studies class. and $299 is cheap for final cut. i first need procesor upgrade, 400mhz not probly be fast enogh for final cut express, acording to apple website. the G4 have 768mb ram, so ram no problem.

I recommend the GigaDesigns 2GHz G4 upgrade from MacGurus.com, for only about $450. Very good deal, should be more than powerful enough for you.

wow, i do no know they have 2ghz G4 alredy! i was look at OWC mercry extreme 1.4ghz G4 upgrade, but cost was $339! gigadesign have 1.4ghz for $283! but i like to have very good stuff in my mac, so i probly get 2ghz. price is very cheap.

i see on macguru site they say firmware update needed. my friend who get G4 for me say firmware up to date. maybe new firmware update avalable?

i just find out, G4 boot 3 operating system. OS 9.2.2 OS 10.1.5 and 10.3.9 i'm typing using 10.3.9 :) great gift! :D
