I have narrowed my search for a new widescreen lcd down to the samsung 244T and the Eizo S2410W.

Sadly there is not too much information about either monitor out. Which would you recommend and why?

There isn't much information because no one is buying them. You can get a dell 24" with superior specs for 2/3 or less the cost of the monitors you've chose. I think the Dell monitor uses the same panel as that samsung monitor you list. Why not consider the Dell?

Does that mean that the samsung and the dell would have the same amount of backlight bleeding ?

With all due respect, I do own a dell 2405. It is a great monitor but from what I have read these two models are superior. I am trying to get some feedback.

Also, I believe there is no much information on these units because they are NEW not because "no one is buying them".

There is a simple write-up or review by Scott Finnie at:

I do own the Samsung 244T Silver myself.

No dead pixels. No backlight issues. Nice blacks. No ghosting. I am not a gamer etc. but I use it for DTP mainly. It is a beautiful monitor. My previous one was also a SAMSUNG, 150MP. But this one is much brighter and clearer and bigger! I am also using Radeon 9500 card and have no problems with the 1920 X 1200 resolution. I tried DVDs (both with standalone and through the PC) and have not seen anything wrong. It is very clear through the component video. I am happy with it. I also found out from SAMSUNG USA that it is HDCP compatible. I cannot test it until I really get the HDTV and DVD stuff. I also tried using VCR and using the tuner saw local broadcasts. I cannot complain since I was using Video and it did appear a little bit grainy but with Cable it was much better! I am sure it will be awesome with actual HDTV.

What I like most is the monitors ability to rotate. It is so easy and smooth and the software that comes with it rotates the display image so smoothly as well. The stand is OK for the purposes I need.

Finally it actually depends on the individual. You must see it before you purchase it. I had a look at a display at Fry's before I decided. I bought mine online. Eizo do make exceptionally wonderful monitors as well and you get what you pay for. So decide what your priorities are and then make the decision and don't look back!

I hope this helps. ;)
