I was cleaning out my computer today and i was amazed at how much dust i vaccuumed up. The culprit for all of this was my intake fan at the front of my case. What would anyone recommend for a filtering system to reduce or eliminate a dust problem?

if you got a fan with decent power and air movement, you can just put a wire mesh filter over it. to keep dust out forever, make sure your intakes are filtered, and that you have more intake air than exhaust.

Good advice there dobbz about the intake and output fans. The only thing I can add is stores like Fry's, CompUSA, and MicroCenter carry a gray plastic framed foam filter that is washable and only costs like $2.99. They work well.

To take advantage of "positive case pressure", you NEED to have filtered intake fans. Many people around here think that there is some magic fore that keeps dust out of your case... well, that's called a filter. Focus more on the filters than anything.

Alright thanks dudes. I was thinking for a temporary fix i could use some dryer paper or an electrostatic cloth, or even part of a dust mask...

A dust mask would be really restrictive. I use a piece of furnace filter, it works great.

Oh ok. right now i'm using one of those dryer papers you put in to freshen your clothes in the dryer. so far it works fine...:p

I'm also using a partially used Bounce dryer sheet. not only do i not have to pay for them (mom buys em) and they work well. but they also give your computer a country fresh scent :D
