This poll is to see what Filtering Optimization settings people run at for gaming (not benchmarking).

In the driver version 65.76 and up there are three Filtering Optimizations, the default driver settings in 65.76 are as follows:

Trilinear Optimization – ON
Anisotropic Mip Filter Optimization – OFF
Anisotropic Sample Optimization – ON

Please vote that you either have all 3 ON, or all 3 OFF or are using the default settings or if Other specify what specifically you are using for gaming.

Also note that under the Image Settings slider “Quality” equals the default settings shown above and “High Quality” equals all optimizations OFF.

Thanks!

With the 65.76 drivers and all 3 opts on I used to see the texture crawl in UT2k4 across the ground. But if I turned off the Mip Filter Opt. the texture crawl was barely there, not noticeable unless I looked for it, which isn't gonna happen during a frag fest. Note, I was using 8x AF during all this.

Now with the 66.70 driver I can run all 3 on and the texture crawl is a lot less noticeable. So I run with all 3 on unless a specific game has bad texture crawls or some glitch etc. Then I turn 1 or more off to alleviate the problem.

I'd rather lose a few fps and know that image quality is maxed out...

Depends on if i'm playing online or single player, I voted defaults though. Single player games or older online games I set it to high quality for sure though.

almost always leave the opts on only when I'm testing our game or my engine and get any sort of artifacting do I turn them off just to be on the safe side.

I use all 3 optimizations, only because it's not going to bother me if something is rendered exactly 100% of the way intended. I'm probably not going to notice either way anyway.

Every game looks great at 1600X1200 regardless. Personally for me FPS > IQ.

QFT . When im playing Games like Doom III , Painkiller im really not concentrating on shimmering or if I can see visual artifacts. If it runs good and looks the part its cool with me :D
