I have what I think should be a simple question (if its possible)...

In a Windows environment, is there a way to move a file from one location on my WHS to another, from a client computer without the file being transmitted over the network to the client and then back to the WHS.

What I tried was opening up the shared folder on the client and transfered the files to another shared folder. The client is connected over wireless so its killing the transfer speeds.

Right now I am remote desktop'ed (?) into the WHS and initiating the transfers that way, but it seems silly to me that there is not a better way to do this.

Any suggestions?

i dont currently use WHS, but when i connect to my HTPC, if you use "move" instead of copy, and the source and location are on the same physical drive it will go instantly.
