I have a network setup that is a little different.

The internet is wireless, yes i mean totally wireless....
There is an antena on the roof and a cable with a coaxial connection into the back of a pc.
The company that serves the connection installed the card into the desk top used and we are sharing the connection to the wireless router through a nic in the desktop. we have the internet shared, but trying to share the files from the desktop to the router and the wireless laptops. Please help

Are alll your computer on the same subnet mask?

If they are on a different subnet mask the computer will think they are on different networks.

Yeah, that would be a problem. The router function of that device is pretty much useless. Simply use it as a switch since you have a host PC doing your routing. Bypass the WAN port and just uplink on one of the switched ports.
