file server upgrade

I am currently running a file server with the following specs:

OS: Fedora
Core2 dual core cpu.
P45 chipset MB
4x 2TB Samsung HDD, software RAID5 on MB SATA ports

I want to build out the server to accommodate more space at least 16TB more with either 2TB-4TB drives, so I have a few questions:
1) Which RAID controller card would you recommend? I am considering using RAID5 or RAID6.
2) What HDDs would you recommend adding?
3) Do you recommend any other changes?

The cheapest and simplest option is to buy a IBM M1015 which gives you 8 sata3 ports. As for HDDs, i recommend WD RED 3TB.
