i have an intel d850gb motherboard / cpu / RDRAM (yeah, that stuff).. so i figure i will try to make a file server.. i have a shuttle as my main comptuer, it doesn't fit the phyisical drives i need..

so, i am looking for a case, (i made a post for that in the case section) and a psu..

the motherbaord has the 20pin connector and a sepearate 4 pin.. plus a wierd connector that looks like its from the AT days..

it doesn't need much power, the computer will run just a bunch of hard drives, probaby have an optical hooked up solely for installing an os.. and whatever video card and nic i have lying around..

does this mean i should find a psu with a strong 5v rail?

something like that? as you can see, i am going for the $40-$50 ones.. not the $80 - $100 ones..
No bad ones here. :D

How many HDD's?

i am thinking 3 or 4 to start.. i might go up to 5 matching 250gb drives.. but i probably won't. because its just money i don't need to be spending..
