Fiber termination question

I always see good deals on unterminated fiber on Ebay.
I know you can go and buy the whole kit with the little eazy bake oven to put the proper ends on but that seems a little expensive. Someone told me you can get crimp on or twist on ends as well.

Are these any good? Are they any cheaper than the easy bake oven kind? Anyone have any good sources for these items? I need a new geek project

When I was trained on how to terminate fibre we used the twist on type. They worked just fine for fibre since by nature you dont tug, twist or bend it We bought exclusivly Belden wire and fibre so they must carry them.

Belden makes cable, not connectors. Check with a datacom distributor like Graybar or Anixter and see what they stock.
