FFXIV Benchmark

720

I did them all with the little Taru Taru (lolafel or whatever) guy. Just so they would all be the same :p All the system specs are in the sig. I didn't bother to reboot these or close anything down, so it probably isn't as high as it could be. Particularly with my main PC and the HTPC. Both have been running for... ever since a reboot. LAN PC was even in XP and I can't remember why... Might rerun it later on my main rig just to see what it would do with a fresh reboot and without firefox, vent, and a bunch of other random things running.

I was somewhat saddened by my main PC. Hoped it would do better. It looked just fine when running, but the score is pretty meh.

Just for shits and giggles I ran it on my HTPC. Pentium 2.8 and a Radeon HD4650 :p

Actually the HTPC somewhat impressed me given how ancient the CPU is :cool: Either way it would appear Square thinks all my computers are garbage. Somehow I think I will survive! ;)

1080p = 1258
720p = 2231

Intel Q8400, 4gb ram, 8800GTS 640mb, 4x 1tb WD Caviar Black drives.

Can't believe how badly it runs at 1080p. Smooth as butter at 720p.

Conclusions:

1. 480 and 5870 score really close despite TWIMTBP.

2. SSD's massacre loading time.

3. Their tip list for what scores match to what experience is definitely underestimating people's setups.

1080P=3855

720p = 4486

During the 720p test my GPU usage never went over 70%. They really should have added more resolutions. I don't play in 1080p, and 720p didn't stress my system enough to get maximum performance.

I wish I was at home to run this; I'm sure my 5850 would be up to the task.

I ran it on mine first with No AA then with 4X CF ADAA

No AA - 925/1200 Cat 10.4

Took it again cuz my first score seemed low.
*specs in sig*

Because of this benchmark tool only offering 2 resolutions, I'm assuming this game is going to be resolution locked like ffxi? Has anyone heard?

High: 4836
Low: 5839

It shows two 5800's because I have two displays. (I actually only have one 5870).

edit: I'm guessing the difference in latency is because I was seeding a large file at 200kB/s during the 'Low' Benchmark.

I've updated my previous post with running today with Cat 10.6 @ 725/1000, I get a GSOD at 925/1200 for some reason the fan doesn't spin up like it did with Cat 10.4. I also think that on some processors clock speed makes a difference.

E8500 @ 4GHz // 4GB DDR2 @ 1000mhz // 2x 640GB WD AALS Raid0 // 2x XFX 5770 (stock)

720p // score 2402 // load time 20118
1080p // score 3926 // load time 20028

Be nice to see how it runs in crossfire

Score 3290 Load 10172 1080p
Score 5731 Load 9959 720p
On 285gtx stock clocks run @4.1

Can some of you with the more ridiculous machines tell me if you're getting stutters/dips?

full size image will show an example, click picture.

~2300
3.2ghz q9450, 4870 512mb (stock)
8gb ddr 800mhz
10.4 drivers
win 7- 64bit

using ramdisk or ssd gives ~15,000ms load time

No dips here. Mine was benched on two older 64 gig ssd drives (raid) with the buggy jmicron controllers

Some minor spikes during the scene changes, but nothing that gets anywhere close to the bottom.

my rig got stutters where it dipped reaaaal low, frequent too :/

not sure what to do about it though -.- , maybe an ssd, but im not that concerned

No stutters, Torqx with 10600ms load.

Yes, in 1080p, I get an occasional dip. The only one that comes to mind is the transition from inside the ship to that shot from stairs to the deck. It's just a little dip in that graph.

In 720p, it's very, very smooth.

heh I got a low score on my weaksauce of a rig.

720p=1,566 [3850 512mb, 1.5ddr2 ram, Sempron 140 <--Yes seriously lol.]

ASUS 4890 TOP (975/4500)
4GB G.Skill 8500
1TB Western Digital Black

I'm a little concerned with the load time numbers, but meh. Haven't gotten around to buying one of them fancy SSD's yet and I'm using just the one HDD in the system benched here. It's almost full.

Ran the 1080p test, scored ~2500.
