Ferrari Memory Question

Hey All
I currently own an acer ferrari 3400 which is an athlon 64 based machine that comes standard with 512MB (2x256) of DDR333 PC2700. I was looking to upgrade the ram but I'm unsure as to what to get. I was hoping to replace one of the 256 chips with a 1 gig one but I'm not sure as to what kind I should be buying. Obviously I could get a 1 gig stick of DDR333, but was wondering if DDR2 533mhz would work as well?
Also does anyone know if having a DDR400 stick and a DDR333 would be unwise? Thanks for your help!
Tim

DDR2 will not work in a DDR machine. You can use any speed of DDR memory as long as it is above or equal to the current speed of your DDR as it will run at that speed regardless of what it is rated for.

Actually, notebooks with AMD processors are very picky from my experience. Check to make sure you get the right RAM for your laptop. Don't be like me and order 2GB of very expensive PC3200 RAM, only to find out that it doesn't work in your laptop.
