Ok, so I'm getting a 470 to go in glados, and while browsing newegg I noticed the expected date for the BFG is tomorrow!

My thing is tho, do y'all think they will actually launch them then? If so, what time? I'll stay up till midnight just to get my order in, but will they do it like that? If so, which timezones midnight is the right one?

Finally, this will be the first new card Ive bought since my ATI 7500 All in Wonder (lol), when it comes to buyig new, which company should I go for? I was thinking BFG but what's your view? I've owned a few of each company they offer, but I'm using my phone a friend here

I almost always go with evga, but I've never heard anything bad about bfg.

I like evga since they've always been helpful with customer support/RMA's and their 90day step-up program is a good incentive as well.

I also like that you can completely remove the heat sink without voiding the warrenty.

Hmm, and removing the HS may be a good idea lol

damn, hate to give money to the enemy lol

how is their warranty like?

I "think" it's a lifetime warrenty, but pretty sure that translates to 2 years :D

Availability is technically supposed to begin on the 12th, so I wouldn't get too excited about getting a card tomorrow. But if you're really planning on ordering one, you may as well just go for it and see what happens.

if i remember the whole launch thing correctly.. retailers are suppose to receive the cards tomorrow then the actual launch date is the 12th..but seeing as how there still isnt a F@H client for these cards.. i dont think its really worth buying yet but then again this is probably the cheapest you will ever see these cards for the next 6 months..

is it just me or is there no GTX 4xx BFG products on newegg?

NVidia said official availability is not due till the 12th. As for BFG, I thought they were going Red.

thats only a rumor.. they have not made it official and they are most likely doing what XFX are doing and producing both ATI and Nvidia cards.. theres to much market loss for them to just go from nvidia directly to ATI and dump nvidia since they are very late to the game on the ATI side of the market..

I had also red somewhere that XFX was skipping this generation of nvidia cards. I'm betting with the way people salivate over XFX Radeon cards that they have their production running full bore.

Wow, funny little story, I can go very dislexic some time, I took the G from Gigabyte, and transposed that to BFG somehow

wow, that's gotta be a record, even for me

I wouldn't buy anything but EVGA or XFX myself.
I know that BFG voids your warranty on stupid shit like adding aftermarket cooling (EVGA and XFX do not do this).

I really don't have much faith in other companies. I love GB boards but I don't think I'd buy one of their cards when there are better card companies out there. ATi cards I've had luck in the past with Powercolor and Sapphire, but if I went ATi now I'd get XFX. nV everything I own is EVGA (except the 8400GS).

Had a EVGA in my cart, but didn't finish deal in time! Crap!!!!

Just tried that too, damn

I'm an eVGA guy myself, but I will wait for YOU to provide us with some numbers regarding fermi. I probably won't upgrade, but like everyone am very very curious.

Well, I guess that's it then, one evga 470 for me. Too bad I don't have a bad ass CPU to pair it with, just my trusty old q66 at stock

I'll review it however y'all want (don't have any real copiesof 7 tho, so I'm not running it) if I can

Just gotta hope I can get in on the order

the rumor is that xfx will be selling the GTX 4xx series.. but they really havent posted anything official except for some little news post on their facebook page.. so either they got a deal of a life time from nvidia while all the other AIB's have to suffer or nvidia came crawling and kissing xfx's feet to make sure they didnt ditch them..
