1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Web browsing, Gaming, Video editing.
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
$1,000 give or take a few hundred $$
3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible.
California, Los Angeles (Microcenter/Frys are local)
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
Case/PSU/CPU/Memory/HSF/Monitor/GPU
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
Keyboard/Mouse/Mousepad
6) Will you be overclocking?
Yes, mild overclock.
7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it?
Don't know yet. Please recommend for 1080P gaming
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
This week or next week
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video (as a backup or main GPU)? UEFI? etc.
Be able to utilize my Samsung EVO 850 512GB SSD
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
Using Windows 7 64b

This is what I currently have picked from Microcenter
Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz LGA 1150 ~$189
MSI Z97 PC Mate Socket LGA 1150 ATX ~$59.99 (Bundled price w/ CPU)
EVGA 600B 600 Watt ATX Power Supply ~$64.99
Corsair Carbide Series 300R Mid-Tower ATX ~$69.99
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO Universal CPU Cooler ~$34.99
LG GH24NSC0B 24x Internal DVD Rewritable SATA Drive ~$14.99
EVGA 16GB DDR3-2400 PC3-19200) CL 11 ~$99.99

Total $577 w/ tax.

I plan to use the onboard GPU until I decide on what video card to buy to game at 1080P. I'd like to play current and future games .

I already purchased my SSD which is an Samsung 850 EVO 500GB 2.5" SATA III.

I would like to overclock the CPU to around 4Ghz, fully utilize my SSD and have good onboard Audio and USB 3.0

This is my 2nd computer, my other computer has 2TB of HDD storage and is my utorrent/plex server.

If I left anything out, please let me know. I'd also like to see if I can save a few dollars , so if you have any suggestions, please let me know.

Thanks!

At $65, that eVGA PSU isn't worth getting since there are better options for the money online. Like this for example:
$66 - XFX TS Series 550W PSU

Personally, I don't like the idea of using RAM rated higher than 1.65V due to potential CPU longevity issues. BUt that is a decent price for the RAM.

thank you for that suggestion.

why would the ram at 1.65v cause issues with the cpu? i did see that majority of ddr3 is rated at 1.5, maybe i can drop the ddr3 volts down to those specs instead? I don't plan on heavy overclocking so that might be an option?

Last I checked, Intel's recommended max voltage for RAM was 1.5V. You could indeed lower the voltage but that also means lowering the frequency of the RAM as well. Though that itself won't matter since current Intel platforms do not take much advantage of higher speed RAM. In other words, for most real-world apps and games, you wouldn't notice a justifiable performance difference between DDR3 1600 and DDR3 3000.
