I'm about to take the step and get a WC kit.

I'm tired of my Dust Buster Volcano 7+ being so loud and would like something a lot quieter.

My system stays on all the time because I have things running, and it sits in my bedroom.

And I'm looking for a "Good and Quiet" WC kit to replace it for UNDER around $150.

Anyone have a good kit I could get for roughly under that price???

Thank you.

HA! So would we. let us know what you come up with. No seriously you get what you pay for. dont expect a 150 setup to be the next big thing.

It's just that I know someone out there has at least done some research on it.

I mean why pay $12 a foot for WC hose from an e-tailer, when you can get the exact same make of hose for $2 a yard from the local hardware store???

kit? or custom?

also your main objective is to keep things quiet and not to OC? you just want to cool the cpu? or the gpu as well?

you can get tubing from your local hardware store, but it maybe harder to work w/, too stiff where kinks can happen or may cause too much stress on your components.

$49 - Eheim 1048 here
$36 - Black Ice Pro Radiator here
$10 - 10' of 1/2" Clearflex 60 tubing here
$43 - Swiftech MCW6002 CPU waterblock here
--------
$138 - Total

Find a quiet(ish) 12cm fan to suit with the remaining $12.

No need for a reservoir. Fill it up closed loop style.

Will keep your CPU cooler than your Volcana for less noise than for sure. The only real thing making noise in that setup above is the fan on the radiator, so make sure you choose one that isn't too noisy. Any good 12cm ~30-35dBA fan that pushes ~60-75CFM or so will suit.

Hydor L20 pump.
Koolance CPU-200 CPU cooler.
120mm Radiator (comes with integral fan).
Danger Den fill port for a T line.

Cost = $128 USD + shipping :D

He could use that - if he wanted the hassle of corrosion issues (aluminium & copper together) . Hydor is not a quiet "high quality" pump either. No tubing there either..

Details ;)

6 feet of 1/4" tubing $6
Aqua Computer AC Fluid $9 (eliminates corrosion problems with dissimilar metals)

Total = $143 USD + shipping

Or add the Eheim 1048 mentioned above for another $5 = $148

I'm not a TT fan-boy, and this is probably going to be flame bait, but I got the kit from my wife for my b-day. It's cooler and quieter than the cnps-7000cu i used to have, and when I added my 6800gt, it was 20c cooler than my nv5 as well.

$115 shipped - ThermalTake Bigwater kit here.

It's cheap and it works if you're just looking for a quiet solution that performs a tad bit better than air, and a lot better than quiet air (low voltage, few fans).

It's also a good place to start learning. It's not expensive, and it includes everything you need to get started.
