Most of my MoBo requirements are already standard equipment. Beyond that, I want RAID so I can eventually mirror by storage drives once I buy a second HDD.​

Yes, Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit​

As you can see from my signature, my current desktop computer is a little out of date, but this is what I currently had in mind:

Only two problems with that build from what I can see:
1) The 2TB Black isn't worth it IMO considering that this faster Hitachi drive costs $80 less:
$178 - Hitachi Deskstar 7K3000 HDS723020BLA642 2TB 7200RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s Hard Drive

2) AS5 is bit outdated these days due to its requirement of a curing time. I recommend the Arctic Cooling MX-4 instead.

Also, you can save $25 if you buy the H100 and PSU together from this Newegg combo link before April 30th:

Rest of the setup looks fine to me.

Keep in mind that the Hitachi Deskstar technology and manufacturing process will be the basis for any future hard drives that will be sold under the Western Digital brand name. WD has completed its acquisition of Hitachi's storage division last month (which also resulted in Hitachi now owning a minority stake in WD). And the Caviar Black that's currently sold still uses a two-year-old platter layout, and it has not been updated physically at all during those two years since it was first introduced (with a SATA 3.0 Gbps interface) - four 500GB platters (the Deskstar 7K3000 2TB drive uses three 667GB platters). For some time afterwards, WD will continue to distribute hard drives under both the WD and the Hitachi brands. Most of the existing Caviar assets (primarily the Green and Blue production) are in the process of being transferred to Toshiba (this is required as a condition of WD's purchase of Hitachi's storage division). Future WD-branded hard drives may very well combine the fast head seek actuators of the Black with the higher platter densities of the Hitachi drives.
