I'm looking to watercool the rig in my sig for some nice overclocks. I've never done watercooling before, so I'd appreciate any feedback on the set up im looking to buy.

CPU block: http://www.dangerdenstore.com/product.php?productid=31

GPU block: http://www.dangerdenstore.com/product.php?productid=161

Radiators: http://www.dangerdenstore.com/product.php?productid=6 I'm looking to do 2 of these guys. I like the small form factor because I'd like to keep everything inside the case. I thought these would go nicely in the front of my case where I have 2 80mm fans vertical

Res: Not sure. looking between http://www.frozencpu.com/ex-res-34.html and http://www.frozencpu.com/ex-res-79.html The 2nd one looks nice, but I don't know if its a good choice.

Pump: no idea. This is where I really need help. Any suggestions?

with all of this stuff (without the pump) I'm looking at around $177 at dangerden. I'd like ot keep it sub or around 250. Still need a pump though. Any feedback would be great!

I can onlyu chime in on what I know.
The DD Actetal MAze 4 is a GREAT cooler in my opinion for the GPU. I have one on my 6800GT and it rocks. I have Asetek Waterchill components for the rest so I can;t help you.

I would look into Eheim for your Pump,a nd maybe a BlackIceXtreme radiator (aka BIX)

I'll let the pro's step in. You won't be disappointed with teh DD Acteal 4 though!

Good luck.

Thanks for the post. Hopefully the pros will step in soon, I got a paycheck today!

The Maze 4 CPU block is junk. Get the TDX, the MCW6002, the Storm, RBX etc...

yeah, get the storm block with the mcp655 pump if you can... or go with the tdx with the liang d whatever (looks exactly like the mcp655 cause it's the same pump)
d5 i think... maybe d4 ? anyway get that one.

Well, I too went with a complete Danger Den setup. I to wanted to keep everything in the case and bought 2 of those 80 mm fans. They suck.... Too much restriction, and with them being so thick, it's nearly impossible to get any descent priced 80mm fan to pull air through them. I ended up buying the Black Ice ProII. It's the dual 120mm rad.

The pump should be determined by the tubing size. If you deside to go 3/8" ID tubing, I'd suggest the DDC 12v pump. It's what I'm using and it works great. It's got some awesome power with very little noise once it has water flowing through it. It also fits very nicely on the bottom rack of my 5.25" bay right below me res, it's very compact. If you go with 1/2" ID tubing, I steared away because of the size it takes up but is great for high flow systems, I'd recomend the Liang D5 pump. It's stock 1/2" inlet and outlet and I've heard bad things about trying to fit it for 3/8" hose, it dramatically reduces water pressure. DD has a money saving combo if you buy the D5 along with the TDX cpu block which I would also recomend.

Well...let me say it like this:
For a 1/2" (or 7/16") system, the storm block simply cannot be beat (from what I've seen, and used). Combine this with a decent 120x2 rad (BIP2, Thermochill PA 120.2, others), and a strong pump (personal pref is the Swiftech 655/DD D5), and you'll be money to cool anything you want.

As for a 3/8" system:
I've heard Cathar comment before (can't find it off hand), that the Storm also works well with a 3/8" flow running to it. This means you could take your storm block, and mount on it compression fittings (if thats how you roll, I use barbs), and use a Swiftech 355/DD DDC pump for pretty spiffy performance too.

Either setup will serve you well. From my reading, the TDX block is simply outclassed when compared to newer blocks. (Once again...FROM MY READING). If you are determined to go medium/big bore, the storm is the way to go.

As for a GPU block, both the Maze4 and the swiftech GPU block are good ones.

I'd steer clear of the ThermalTake Res thingee. It's bored for 1/4" or 3/8" systems. It will choke a 1/2" system probably. I'd use the new swiftech microres, (if you can find a place to mount it), or the older HDPE res. Not to mention either will have you some $$$ to upgrade other components with.

Micro: http://www.frozencpu.com/ex-res-80.html
HDPE: http://www.frozencpu.com/ex-res-51.html

(And yes...I'm a Swiftech Whore...)

Don't use the FrozenCPU dual bay-res. Go ahead and order the one on DangerDen's website, it's a much higher quality product. I've got a DD TDX block in my 1/2" loop. I get good temps, but I haven't used any other block to compare to. I've got a D4 "Laing" pump. It is loud as a sonofabitch. Wired for 7V, it's tolerable, but still awfully noisy. The D5 is supposed to be alot better. If I were you, I'd do a Storm or TDX for the CPU, Maze4 for the graphics card, D5 for the pump, 1/2" tubing, and one of the DD bay-reses if you decide to put one in your loop.

Edit: and a dual 120 BIX for the radiator.
