fedora core 1 vs 2 & update from rh 9

i currently run redhat 9 for my webserver. nothings wrong with it but i'm just curious to learn more about fedora.

first thing is what's the difference between core 1 and core 2?
and how hard is it to upgrade from rh 9 to fedora? should i just backup my data and reformat?
 
I'd say to just back it up for a cleaner install, but that's mostly because I'm not totally sure of all the steps to make a clean transition, because I think Fedora is laid out slightly different than RH9.
 
there have been a lot of people having various problems with the FC2 especially. You might want to see if you can test it out a bit before you go putting it on a production web server.
