Just want to drop a note in the archives regarding the new Fedora 8 linux distro. It's getting good reviews, but when I tried to install it on my new Dell Vostro 200, the install would freeze on 'Installing SCSI Loading ata_piix driver.'
The solution is to press tab before starting the installation at the screen the disc loads first so that you can add kernel options, and add 'irqpoll' as a option by typing it in as one of the arguments. This solves the problem. Felt like sharing.
