Fedora 18 in VMWare Player

Is there a way to get Fedora 18 to work reliably in VMWare Player?

I can't run with the VMWare 3D acceleration enabled; if I do, Fedora hangs after login. Without 3D acceleration, the UI is very slow and unreliable; Fedora will often snap the player window to a tiny dimension (320 x 200?) and refuse to let me resize it until I reboot.

What hardware and host OS are you using? I have run F18 successfully under VMPlayer with zero issues.

The host OS is Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

The machine is just my dev desktop:
