FEAR and 81.84 Driver problems

I installed the 81.84 drivers and set my settings to my usual through windows. 2xAA, 8xAF, High Quality, Vsync off, Gama correct AA on, MS AA, Application controlled for all off, and everything else default. So I play some FEAR and first thing I notice is theres no AA and Ive come to the conclusion that FEAR is controlling my quality settings instead of the windows control panel. So I turn on 2x AA and 8x AF in FEARs graphics options but theres no option that I know of to turn on Gama correct AA and MS AA. What do I need to do to get my settings controlled through the windows driver settings? If I cant get that to work is there graphic options within FEAR to turn on Gamma correct AA and MS AA?
 
Would this be the shadow thing?

There's a known issue with using AA while soft shadows are on in FEAR, you have to use the ingame panel to enable the aa.
 
not FEAR related but i cant make the WDM driver work with the 81.84 set
 
No this isnt a shadow thing this is a Gamma correct AA and MS AA thing. They wont work in FEAR now with this driver.
 
Gamma correct and MSAA cause problems in lots of games with the new drivers, Battlefield 2, Rome Total War etc...
 
I'm pretty sure you should ALWAYS use the in-game settings if available before forcing them in the driver cp.
 
Well no matter what I did I couldnt get gamma correct AA and MSAA to work in FEAR with the new 81.84 drivers so I just went back to 78.05 and there working now.
 
Remember this is still a prerelease demo. Wait for the game to come out before getting upset something does not work. :) Likely all will be great. :D
 
I think it is driver related as the TS/MSAA modes do not work in HL2 (for me at least) with the 81.84s. Have not tried FEAR demo.
