FEAR 1.07 Vista Ultimate x64

Not even getting to the install screens..... Two UAC popups, accept, and then nothing.....

Did you try installing in compatibility mode?

I have heard of many people running FEAR in vista problem free but I have not tested it myself.
I can give it a spin this Sunday and let you know. That is if you feel like waiting for me.

Try turning UAC off, install, patch, then run FEAR. I just installed successfully with this procedure. Get the patch 1.08

oh, also.. the FEAR installer.. installs DX9c, and you might want to download and install the Dx9c december update from MS.

Don't forget to turn UAC back on...

Original installer from Sierra FEAR Combat 1.07 downloaded 1/31/2007....

UAC Off, Compatibility mode XPSP2

Watching task manager as soon as I click run I move from 53 processes to 54 immediately back down to 53 and I see fear_combat.... running briefly.....

I wonder if the installer is boinked??....

hmm, well I installed from the cds, then installed the 1.08 patch, everything works fine.

Sillies. Right click the patch and 'run as administrator'.

I was just saying I wouldn't upgrade until it's fixed...didn't call it anybody's fault. And just for shits and giggles i tried it on my test station at work with (1.08) and it installed fine.
