The FCC has given the iPhone the thumbs up. On slow days like today, everyday formalities like this qualify as news. Besides, I personally feel an obligation to our readers that own a Mac, all three of them, to keep them up to date on this stuff. :D

Some of the FCC documents confirm a few features of the phone, including Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, and show that it will operate in the 1900MHz and 850MHz frequency bands. The phone uses GSM technology and the low-speed GPRS wireless data standard.

Another stepping stone overcome for Apple.

From my perspective, the Samsung UpStage has it beat.

The UpStage definitely isn't all that.

You're limited to 2GB of music on your microSD card, so woe be to you if you want to carry a lot of music. Also, I've heard that it can be annoying to flip back and forth between music and phone halves, which might defeat the whole point.

And let's not forget, a 3.5-inch touchscreen is pretty hard to beat!

3 Mac owners?! There are a lot more Mac owners out there! You left me out of loop. I make 4. :D

Seriously, I'll have to swing by the Cingular store when these are available and demo the crap out of it. That damn touch screen is calling to me.
