Ugh, here we go again. Now the "upside down carat" that used to be present for every notification has disappeared. Wtf? Now how do I disable certain notifications?
In particular, I'm struggling with this new, stupid live video s***. I get a notification that "<one of my dumbass friends> is live now." How do I turn it off? Googling it brings up a bunch of results that are either outdated or don't apply for some reason. For instance, here's an article from Time that was published just 1 day ago on how to turn these off:

Guess what? Doesn't work, because this "upside down carat" no longer exists! None of my notifications have any kind of carat. There's only the "mark as read" button, that's it! I tried different browsers just to make sure it's not some rendering problem.
Going into Notification Settings brings up a page with a pretty scant selection of only basic controls. What do I do?? Help!
