Okay, my friend reformatted his FAT32 drive. I used a couple apps to try and get the data back, and "Zero-Assumption" turned out to be the best, since there weren't too many that supported FAT32, as I know it's even harder to recover than NTFS.
However, the data he wanted was not recovered. The app's finding showed some directories with red Xs on them that it would not recover.
Has anyone had any experience recovering FAT32 lost data?
Additionally, has anyone had any experience with reputable data recovery facilites that don't cost as much as some others do? Obviously, I'm looking to get the job done, but pay as little as possible.
I've read all of the data recovery threads, so I've gathered most of the info and recommendations, but as you can see, I'm at a crossroads.
FYI, the drive is 20GB.
Thanks.
