Whats the fastest CD ripper out there under $40? If multipurpose (ie DVD or CD burner) then budget is much higher. thanks

When looking for CD Burners, go with Lite-On. 99.99% of everyone here will agree with me on this one.

The only reason to go with a different brand is if you want the trays to match a drive you already own.

Lite-On also makes combo drives now, and DVD burners, too!

I can vouch for lite-on. My 12x burner is still working after four years

Fastest ripper? Which one do you want, CDROM only,CDRW or DVDRW?In all the above cases,I'd heartily recommend Lite-On drives. The 52327S is a 52/32/52 CD recorder, runs 40$ at the Egg, and rips like a pair of scissors on speed.

ditto for the lite-ons, i have a cendyne 52x32x52 (rebranded lite-on internals), its as fast as i've seen, and it wasn't too expensive either
