do the 250gb 7200.10 drives have the possibility of coming with the AAK firmware?

yeah id like to know the same thing ^^

Probably one of the 7200.11 Seagate drives, but newegg doesn't have them yet =(

I have a pair of the original 36GB raptors in a raid 0 array. I wonder if this drive is faster than those.

edit: on hdtach right now I get 99.2 mb/s average read and 168.5 mb/s burst

Raptors typically stomp at random access speed.

But the latest 7200rpm drives are getting fast, and beating them in transfer rate.

Access time is a tricky thing. Sure the quoted number on the WD360GD is lower than what most recent gen drives can offer. However it does not take data set size into account. Access time across a 30GiB data set requires a lot more distance to be covered by the WD360GD than a current generation 1TB drive.
