Hi guys I recently got farcry 2 and was wondering whats up with my performance with this 4870x2.

I'm running e8400 at 3.6ghz and catalyst hotfix2..

I ran ranch small at max settings with 1920 x 1200 res and these are pretty disappointing results.... it was stuttering most of the way.

Have no clue why my results are like this and I'm planning to get 3dMark to test my computer out some more. Most people with the 4870x2 can play this game maxed out @ this resolution and mine sputters around 20 fps. Is there a diagnostic program which can tell me whats slowing up my computer or the cause of this issue?
 
try changing the 8x AA to something more reasonable like 4x, or even just 2x.

Here are my results from my Q6600 at 3.6 with 4850 Crossfire. Also at 1920x1200, but I kept most of my settings at "Very High" instead of Ultra, and I only use 2x AA which seems like enough to get rid of most jaggies.

Huh...that's funny. I notice you have overall quality set to "optimal.", but if you change any of the other settings under "optimal" , overall quality usually shows up as "custom" in the benchmark results. *edit* looks like DX10 default settings for "optimal". DX9 shows "custom".
 
Indeed 8x AA at 1920x1200 is the reason for the pronounced hit, although even with that kawai's numbers look too low
