How is FarCry on the 360? I've never played the xbox version but I did get a chance to play the original FarCry on the PC for a few hours and liked it.
 
This is my opinion, but I thought it was incredibly horrible. I eventually ended up just trading it in at EB. While the water effects are simply jaw-dropping, the rest of the graphics just don't look very good. They look nowhere near as good as the PC version, and almost looks like the original Xbox graphics. Another irritating point, is that they didn't do a good job with the controls. There is incredible lag as it's almost a full second sometimes from when you push the thumbsticks, to the time when your character actually starts to turn or move. This made me motion sick rather quickly. The game also doesn't feel very polished.
 
If you have a PC (which I'm assuming, as you're posting on here) which is half decent and has a ATI 9800 pro (or equivalent) or above, then get Far Cry on the PC instead.

I used to have it on my old rig with a 9800 pro and got it running pretty good (although it was impossible to max everything) at 1280x1024. I'm playing it again at the moment on my current rig (half an hour, here or there) and really enjoying it all over again.

I've not played the 360 version, but heard some pretty average things about it.

That sums it up pretty well. The game and story are fairly different from the PC and console versions. If you havn't played Far Cry yet at all, and have a decent PC, definately get the PC version if you can still find it. I remember with even a Geforce 6800GT back then, I was able to get good frame rates with some incredible graphics. The PC version also is longer and has a better story line in my opinion.

I played through the PC when it came out and really liked it alot. I now have this for the X360 as well and am not really getting into at all like I did the PC version. I will be trading it back into EB shortly. The water IMO is the best looking thing in the game and looks better than the screenshots for sure. As someone metioned ealier the controls are way slow and unresponsive. I have meesed with the settings and everything and still is pretty bad.
