I cam across this if anyone happen to be interested. Like all video games turn movie I would like to see how it turns out. This movie should not be too hard to mess up since its like all other gun ho action movie, from the looks. Don't really know to much about it since I never beat the game or played it long. I also don't know if its will be release in theater either since I didn't read fully into it.

Theres a leaked early trailer for it on the net and it looks bad as in B rated straight to walmart bin bad.
 
Why is it always Uwe Boll? You'd think they would pick another director by now. Or is he the only person interested in actually making game-based movies?
 
Uwe Boll is also directing "Postal." Luckily, he is not doing the re-make of Street Fighter though anyone re-making it can't make it any crappier than the original Van Damme one.

The only movie I've seen by Uwe Boll was House of the Dead. Luckily I downloaded it instead of renting it or seeing it in the theaters. I smoked so much weed to try and make the movie better. It didn't work.

The thing that sickens me the most is that he has a whole line up of other video game movies coming out. At least Blizzard knows better than to let Uwe Boll touch their Warcraft movie.

Its a shame these B movie directors arent as good as the B movie directors back when I was a kid. I can remember when many B movies used to be pretty decent. Not blockbusters but entertaining nonetheless.

German tax laws had a loophole that allowed the financial backers and Uwe to take very favorable tax breaks when the movies lost money. This loophole has since been closed. Coincidentally, Uwe announced he would be going back to making low-budget independent movies.
 
I wouldnt get my hopes up about it being A++, also video games rarely go into movie production (it works the other way around) and the ones that do turn into a movie are... bad if not horrible ~ hitman, doom.
 
While postal won't win any awards, it sure was funny. Although the laughter could have been from how bad it was....

Exactly. His funding is dried up. We wont see many more game licensed movies from him, if any.

He has taken some really awesome video games that had huge potential to be awesome movies and turned them into garbage...

That preview looks like a low budget movie, cheesy as well. What are the, full list if possible, movie that this UWE guy have made? I seen ITNOTK and it was not great. Jason Statham starred in some great movies like Crank and all the Transport movies, but this one made him look horrible.

Hey I actually liked that movie. I didn't expect much going in and I was pleasantly surprised by a steady stream of tongue-in-cheek B-movie action.

Then again, I liked "Ultraviolet" too, for the same reasons. Low expectations that were very easily surpassed, but not quite to the level of a "good movie." Both of them also did a good job (IMO) of creating a unique universe that was at least interesting to look at.

"Far Cry" looks like trash, mostly because it immediately evokes every bad 80's action flick in existence with set design, actors, acting, and at least superficially the plot. Too bad... Far Cry the game was a load of fun wasn't it. For whatever reason I tended to think of Far Cry during the last parts of Terminator 3. That would have been a good look and feel for the film.
