My FPS seem a little low, I think another stick of 512 may help...

I am going to purchase another 512mb of RAM within the next couple of days. I always thought 512 would be enough but some of these newer games are just eating it up!

Not as bad as I thought I would fare.

Wow! I guess having 1 gig of RAM makes a huge difference, because I get about an average of 30 FPS with maximum details at 1024x768. This is with a mere 9600 Pro that I don't OC anymore!

*does a little jig*

ran the first bench then was playing around and tried it again with these results...

That 1600x1200 score isnt right. My 1800FP can only do 1280x1024. I didnt feel like lugging my 21" CRT that can do 1600x1200 just to bench this, perhaps later.

Gah, does faster ram really make such a big difference, if so im getting faster ram :(

The problem with this demo is that we aren't really comparing apples to apples.. I suspect the benchmark doesn't automatically adjust all settings to max and that it uses your current config when running the test. Also, a lot of people manually change their settings via display properties such as texture quality...

One thing I do know is that more memory helps your overall fps in this benchmark. After running it several times in a row to eliminate hd swapping, my fps went from 41 to 46 with all settings maxed out @ 1024*768

Yup, i got 24 average, then saw i had 4xAA 8xAF forced in the drivers :p
When i turned that off and set it at application preference i got 37 fps average :D

But, umm, that kinda shows that those supposedly "Max Settings" arent max, atleast not with AA and AF.

So not useless bench when using it urself, but far from accurate when comparing to others

Yeah, not only that, I wonder if it detects and changes setting such as shadows, water quality, ect...

I saw some benchmarks people ran over on the Far Cry forums and some were claiming 60 FPS + with max setting in 1024*768 with 9800 pro/xt cards. I don't think those number are possible.

The game runs great for me, I have yet to see 30 or lower on the framerate counter.

Pleasantly surprised with my old 9500 Pro and 2400+. I'm sure the Gig of HyperX has nothing to do with it... :D
