Hey guys I have Far Cry 2 on Steam. This issue crops up in the Singleplayer portion of the game.
I noticed when I sprint in the game I'll get what I can best describe as a "stutter". To get a little nostalgic, in the days of 56k and Rainbow Six, it could be described as "warping".
I also notice this when driving the in game vehicles.

My FPS are pretty high, I ran the included benchmarking software. I don't believe it is an FPS issue. I only game at 1680x1050, and I don't crank up the settings too high either.

I'm running the 9.9 Catalyst Drivers, and nothing is overclocked.
Vista 64 Bit
eVGA 780i SLI FTW
E8600 3.33Ghz Core 2 Duo
4 Sticks of DDR2 LOW LATENCY PC-6400
ATI Radeon 4890 1GB Sapphire
SEAGATE 750GB SATA 3G 7200RPM NCQ

I realize this is hard to describe without posting some sort of video, but my hope is that someone can pinpoint the issue.
I appreciate any advice you guys can offer, thanks!

I used to have this and the only way to fix it was to limit the games fps with the console command "gfx_maxfps 30".

It's something specific to running FC2 in DX10. If you don't want to limit your FPS (which appears to work for most people) you can try DX9.

Same problem here. It's like the camera doesn't move smoothly, but kind of "jumps" a couple of times every second. Everything's fine in DX9, though.

What is up with DX10? It's supposed to be some big improvement over 9, but I keep reading about people experiencing problems. I have Cyrsis, and unless I change it to DX9, it keeps reverting back to Windowed mode. Now I read this. What's the point in having DX10 if we keep having to revert back to DX9 for it to work correctly?

Game was huge open world that felt so dead.. no animals not much going on really :(

This works great. I had the same issue.

You have to help me out here because I have a theory. This is "fixed" for some reason in Windows 7 for most people. Every person who I have asked about this which isn't too many seems to have been effected by the 59hz "bug" in Windows 7. Could you set your refresh rate to 59hz and try the game out in Vista for me? Also what monitor are you using.
