This is the coolest thing that I have seen in a long time. I think that a lot of people have good ideas for games or mods, but they lack the technical skills to make their ideas a reality. ..(I being one of those that lack the technical skills)… I wish that developers made tools like this for every game. http://www.gametrailers.com/player/38617.html
 
Very nice map editor indeed. I hope the sharing and rating system for the 360 will be incorporated into the PC version as well.
 
Looks pretty sweet. Seeing this more and more with editors (and yes, there are others out there like this). I'll still never be able to create anything decent because I'm worthless when it comes to creativity.
 
I guess the big deal with this one is that it'll be available on the consoles as well.
 
Simple editors create endless replay value.

I think Im among the minority when I say that online play has little interest to me. Its either to time consuming, full of morons, or just to competitive. Sometimes you just wanna play on your own terms outside of the restrictions of single player.

I spent more time in the Crysis editor, probably 10x more then I did playing the game. Just editing SP maps with vehicles, enemies, etc.

Flashpoint's mission editor kept me playing that game for years longer then I would have without the editor.

As was pointed out already, this is very similar to existing (and old) map editors. You should probably take a look at the CryEngine 2 tools, if you want something better.

How many other games have map editors like this? I don't understand why every game doesn't have easy to use editors. When players are able to create custom content it makes a game's appeal last much longer.

Yeah the ease of use is huge in my opinion.

I just hope the game is awesome, then I'll worry about the editor.

Indeed. I don't have much time to create new stuff for games, but I certainly appreciate what others have done, for some of the games I play. So these tools are definitely welcome.
