Far Cry 2 - max settings screenshots

iirc wasn't it revealed that the developers said pc version wont have any graphical enhancements over the console releases?

If thats true I'm still fine with it. Unless they somehow lock out AA and AF I'm sure I can make the game look better.

might get this on the ps3 instead of the pc. pc is a fast becoming a dead format thanks to EA with there retarded DRM and games like this becoming straight ports of the console version. fuck it.

im getting use to fps games on a control pad anyway and the online popularity of consoles is far more greater then pc games(except wow).

i now ask myself why the fuck am i planning a nehalem build? why not just buy a cheap core 2 now?

Considering that this is Ubisoft - the king of console ports - that doesn't surprise me. I think some of those highly anticipating this, will probably have some surprises about the PC version of Far Cry 2...

ps3/360 FTW then

If Dunia uses the same deferred lighting techniques as UE3 (that focus on consoles), then it's very likely that you don't have AA available directly from in-game options. And considering that Ubisoft focus on consoles, I find that possibility very likely.

I mistakedly clicked on a Far Cry 2 screenshots thread expecting to see screenshots. Instead I see pages of nonsensical Crysis bashing. Silly me.

I've seen screenshots with AA. Deferred lighting is unnecessary.

LOL "ain't" that the truth.

Some people are still pissed that they couldn't run it @ 2560x1600, with everything maxed out, on their 2-3 year old system I guess

Crysis has tremendous replayability, which to me is always a plus, for a mostly single player game. All this talk about "It's all graphics, but no gameplay", is a very flawed argument, especially when some of the same people, go to threads about Fallout 3 (which is mostly about gameplay) and complain about the graphics.

I love listening to your little piss-ant soldiers...trying to talk tough. They make me laugh. If Matrix was here he'd laugh, too.

This game actually looks very ugly to me. The character models look worse than half life 2. The only thing I really like is the first person hand and weapon models.

Crysis and its related games are really fun. Far Cry 2 looks to be really fun too.

Some of you need to find more positive paths to expressing yourselves.

I loved Far Cry 1 (and still do, but my CD is scratched enough to not play... I might download the ad supported free version). I'm really looking forward to FC2. I liked Crysis *liked, not loved*, but it was more of a graphics demo than a very in depth game. Same thing happened with Doom 3, though. It was a tech demo, and not much else.

I'd like to see them put out a bonus CD/DVD with the original Far Cry game on it with the new engine.

But, FC2 better be more than just a demo of the engine, and be a good game. Focus on the GAME, not the engine. Maybe hire some of the hardcore level designers from around the internet forums.

Those shots have some good points and some sad ones. The people don't look that great, but the murky water looks awesome!

The sub-surface scattering on faces is the only thing that ever made Crysis look good.
