Fans for p180

I've had my P180 for a while now, but I've never had a fan on the bottom front intake port (right in front of the hard drives).

I have the Tricool fans located in the bottom middle (between the hard drive cage and the PSU), and on the Top and back. I also have a 4th fan located in the middle front for intake.

Right now I have the bottom middle fan blowing over the hard drives and out (not optimal, I know, but I thought some air circulation over the hard drives is better than none).

Is there anyone that uses a fan in the bottom front? If you know the p180, there isn't a fan mount there. There appears to be an intake, and a sort of molding around it, but I'm not sure how I'd fit a fan there. I'll get pics up if it's needed.

So... anyone use a fan for intake there? If so, which ones?

I'm doing some searching, so I'm trying to find the optimal airflow for my case. Is it generally better to mount the hard drives in the middle cage so you can use the intake fan to blow over them? I use 3 hard drives (150 Rapter, 2 500+gb WDs), and I currently have them mounted in the very bottom with the lower middle tricool fan blowing over them and out. Bad idea?

With my case closed, I get around 50-53 degrees per core, when under load (folding with both cores 24/7).

Apropos... what's the best HSF combo that can fit in this case? I currently have an Asus A8N-SLI Premium and an X2 4400+ but i want to upgrade to an E6600 or better fairly soon. I don't think that will make a huge difference as far as clearance goes, but what is everyone using?

Thanks.

u should turn the fan back around because its already sucking air across the hdds and with the fan blowing on the hdds the psu wouldnt be getting as much air becuse ur suking air from both sides so ur not gana get much air flow in the bottem chamber with the side on.

I would be concerned about what reversing that lower chamber fan is doing to your power supply's air flow.

Pulling the air should keep the drives at acceptable temps, even with four drives in use. But I understand where you are coming from, I would have liked for the fan to be in front of the drives instead of behind.

Some people have cut into their P180 cases to make a 120mm fan fit in front. For me, bad things happen when power tools are in my hands, so instead I just used a smaller 80mm fan I had available. Works nicely. A 92mm should even fit, but I didn't have any around at the moment.

yeah, I'm not big into power tools.

The PSU is a Corsair HX620. I'll reverse the fan and see how well that goes.
