Fans and TIM for an H60

I finished my new build last night, with an FT02 case, i7-2600k and an H60 using the TIM it came with, the H60 fan pushing and the FT02 exhaust fan pulling. Right now at stock CPU speed, I'm seeing idle temperatures at 29C and load temperatures (Prime95 small FFTs) at 52C (that's one core, the other cores are up to 4C cooler, leaving me to think the TIM isn't fully covering the CPU). Is this normal for the H60, or should I apply new TIM and get some new fans?

Also, if I do remount the H60, what TIM should I use. I have some AS5 on hand, but it's been sitting in a draw for over two years. And what's a good recommendation for fans? I'm thinking about some AP121s, but I'd rather not have the LEDs.

those temps are very reasonable. some of the cores will run hotter than the others that is normal.

As the user above me stated, I think your temperatures are quite reasonable. The difference in core temperatures is not something to worry about in my opinion. It could be caused by other things than the thermal paste.

As for the fans, I would not use the AP121 on a radiator. Personally I find the air penetrator series more suited as a case-fan, because of the directed airflow. I would look for fans with a higher static pressure. If you're into Silverstone fans, perhaps the FM121 is a better alternative. The Akasa Viper is also quite neat, if you can stand the color (but no LEDs, wuhu). There are loads of alternatives.

Your temps are right on, not sure what you were looking for with them though. The silverstone fans are nice, and the fan that comes with the cooler isn't too shabby either, specially on the noise front. Consider that by removing and changing the TIM, you could make things worse for temps. Look at some of the forum posts here about similar combo's like mine and eXc's. His temps get into the 80's while mine stay in the low 60's. I say if its working that well, don't mess with it...

Ok, I'll keep things as they are for now. I'm looking forward to OCing this thing.

Thanks guys!
