So my old rig is just sitting and I wanted to try out a linux distro that looks fancy. I have tried to install ubuntu a few a couple years ago but it wouldnt install because of my video card (ati x800xl), I assume drive support is better now? Would ubuntu install now with my video card? Any fancy mods for it?

Ubuntu should install fine. I'm not sure what fancy stuff there is out there though.

If you want "fancy", maybe try out Linux Mint - based on Ubuntu but with some more nice themes and eye candy.

I installed Ubuntu on my crap Labtop circa 2005 w/ ATI shared memory/video card. Runs great.
Ill try it out.
